We are stoked to share with you all that on the auspicious occasion of Gurupurab, @Parkshala in collaboration with Nikhaar Foundation opened up its new Holistic Development Center at Vivekananda Park, Andrewsganj(Delhi)  . With the inclusion of 50+ kids from the new Center, our total strength across the 3 branches is now 300+ . So grateful for everyone who's been instrumental in making this happen! 

Alongwith academics, Parkshala also focuses on value education and character-building. The environment at most of these children's homes is not conducive for learning and they lack good role-models in their lives. These kids will soon be the youth of India and it is immensely crucial to have compassionate, well-behaved, diligent and honest souls on the streets. ·           13 of our students our YPV level 1 practitioners trained by Yoga Prana Vidya, an organization that follows and teaches the healing practices taught by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui ·           Regular meditation and forgiveness exercises are conducted ·           Moral stories are read out to the younger children ·           Cleanliness drives within the park are undertaken every month ·      ...

Parkshala™ is a Noida-based NGO dedicated to transforming lives of children who hail from the lower strata of the society. We work as an after-school support group to bridge the educational & moral gap between these children and their affluent peers. At Parkshala, we believe that anyone can make a difference no matter how old you are, 5 or 85. All you need is to be a human. A human who listens, understands, actions, and achieves. We could have been working in a 9 to 5 and adding to the family income, or fueling our own dreams. But, we choose to give back. We choose to not fly alone but together with every child who dreams, no matter what the background. "I was in 7th when I got hit on the left #eye while playing. I was young and I knew I'd be scolded. So, out of fear, I didn't tell my parents. I patched it up with the help of a few friends. . About a year later, I started facing problems in the eye. So we went to the government #hospital in sector-31. They said it's a normal issue and gave me eye-drops. . The eye-drops didn't help. So, a few months later we visited ICare Hospital. They told us that it's retinal displacement. They could operate but can't promise anything. . We were shattered. This was way bigger than I had imagined. My father decided to get a second opinion. We went to RML Hospital, Delhi. They assured us that there would be 90% success rate. My family felt comforted and we decided to get the operation done. . 1 operation turned to 2 and when the 3rd operation got over last year, I had lost my vision. "We used to live with my Nani in our village in Bihar. My parents, my younger brother, me.. all of us. My father was mentally unstable. He used to leave the house in frustration. All the medicines, visit to the doctors, everything took a toll on both him and my parents' savings. . One day, he stormed out as usual but never returned.
