Add caption Cases of child sexual abuse increased so much that the government had to legit pass POCSO act to address this issue. Pedophiles are everywhere but not every child is abused. What is it that makes a child susceptible to abuse? Lack of knowledge: the topic being taboo, parents don't educate the children and make them aware that they could be in this situation. Lack of a support system and emotional safety, people they can confide in Lack of confidence in self : Leads the child to not speak up Lack of awareness of surroundings and those around them Family's blind trust in relatives and friends Inability of the child to defend himself in a situation that can lead to abuse

Kids are the flag bearers of pure love- they give unconditional love, they seek pure love and this reflects in their patriotism too. . CAA or no CAA, teach your kids compassion so they can embrace diversity with empathy. Help them extract a zillion reasons from the daily routine which can make them dance and jump with joy.

O nce academics were stabilized, we started exploring options for all-round, holistic development . We have collaborated with different individuals and organizations across various fields to conduct workshops for the children. In 2018, we conducted a workshop almost every month.

T hey may not be as privileged as you and me but they are for sure more excited for the festivities. The kids at @parkshala are prepping up once again to brighten up homes this Diwali. We have an earnest request for you all. This time around, please don’t negotiate on the prices of the diyas with the street vendors. How about we light up their homes this Diwali by paying a penny more. It’s the least we could do.

According to Supreme Court’s Report on POCSO cases, in the first half of the year, i.e between January 1, 2019 and June 30, 2019, over 24,000 cases of child abuse were registered in India. Drill this number down and it would send a chill down your spine- one kid in every 5 minutes is sexually abused in India! . So while you and I are slogging through the day or browsing through the dressed up wi ndow displays at malls or nibbling on popcorn during a movie or just resting ‘em eyes, there are hundreds of children facing  #sexualabuse . It’s an alarming situation and it’s absolutely important now to educate the kids and their parents about respect and consent, about  #goodtouchbadtouch  and a little extra about  #selfdefence .

Our lessons take place in community parks and halls because we are trying to utilize already available resources for this purpose. Our mission is to combine education with a holistic development that is concerned with the child’s intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative, and spiritual potential. Today, Parkshala™ stands tall with 150 children and is rearing to grow its tribe. The schools our children go to lack basic amenities and quality education. Moreover, most of their peers at such schools are uninterested in education. So, our first and foremost focus is on academic growth and improvement. Subjects that students find difficult like English and Chemistry are taught directly by our founder, Priya Gupta We conduct regular tests to gain insight into problem areas. Remedical classes our conducted during summer and winter vacations to bring weak students at par with others in their grade. Improvement has been observed in grades at school, fluency in spoken English, overall confidence while asking questions, curiosity to know more. Our education system is flawed. We are throwing our kids in at the deep end and they're drowning. And if by chance, they happen to confide about their struggles, we make a mockery of them. The hue and cry created by the well-wishers drowns out the voice of that child who is trying oh-so-hard to breathe. WHY?
