O nce academics were stabilized, we started exploring options for all-round, holistic development . We have collaborated with different individuals and organizations across various fields to conduct workshops for the children. In 2018, we conducted a workshop almost every month.

T hey may not be as privileged as you and me but they are for sure more excited for the festivities. The kids at @parkshala are prepping up once again to brighten up homes this Diwali. We have an earnest request for you all. This time around, please don’t negotiate on the prices of the diyas with the street vendors. How about we light up their homes this Diwali by paying a penny more. It’s the least we could do.

According to Supreme Court’s Report on POCSO cases, in the first half of the year, i.e between January 1, 2019 and June 30, 2019, over 24,000 cases of child abuse were registered in India. Drill this number down and it would send a chill down your spine- one kid in every 5 minutes is sexually abused in India! . So while you and I are slogging through the day or browsing through the dressed up wi ndow displays at malls or nibbling on popcorn during a movie or just resting ‘em eyes, there are hundreds of children facing  #sexualabuse . It’s an alarming situation and it’s absolutely important now to educate the kids and their parents about respect and consent, about  #goodtouchbadtouch  and a little extra about  #selfdefence .

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND BODY LANGUAGE "Effective Communication and Body Language" workshop was conducted by Ms. Nancy Juneja of RevUp Life Skills Unit, Delhi. She spoke to the children about how to be more positive, assertive and coherent in life. This was done through games and activities.

When the   #universe  is calling all the shots, all you can do is open your grateful heart to more and more  #souls !. . We are so pleased to announce the  #beginning  of a new holistic education journey for the kids of  #Salarpur, Noida ! . Dear universe, how does it get any better than this!

Parkshala is a Noida-based NGO dedicated to transforming lives of children who hail from the lower strata of the society. We work as an after-school support group to bridge the educational & moral gap between these children and their affluent peers.  Further, we are trying to utilize already available resources for this purpose. "I want to be an #artist . Till 6 months ago, my family didn't #support me. Their words were, "ye hum logo ke shauk nahi hai. Kya hoga isse?" (These aren't the kind of things we indulge in. What's the point?) . Their logic is not wrong. We were a family of 7. With my elder siblings married, it's 5 of us now. My father works as a security guard. He earns INR 10,000. It's not enough so he took up a job in a cafe. His timings were 7 PM - 2 AM. . When it started taking a toll on his health, as the son, I took matters in my own hands and started working at the cafe on his behalf. They used to pay me INR 3000 per month. . My parents started supporting me when my school awarded me for my paintings. They had pride in their eyes! They saw that it's my natural talent! My father saved for 3 months to buy me a new set of paints and brushes. It's been the best gift I've ever received!" 😍 - Shivakant , 15 years.

Chandan  and Lata will be a part of the 1st batch completing school and what a PHENOMENAL result!! 😍 . We called their parents over and had a mini-celebration . 🎂 . Congratulations to all their mentors and their families! 👌🏻 . Goes on to prove that with the guidance of right teachers and hard work of the students , sky is the limit! Nothing else matters. ✨🙏
