What is it that makes a child susceptible to abuse? Lack of knowledge: the topic being taboo, parents don't educate the children and make them aware that they could be in this situation. Lack of a support system and emotional safety, people they can confide in Lack of confidence in self : Leads the child to not speak up Lack of awareness of surroundings and those around them Family's blind trust in relatives and friends Inability of the child to defend himself in a situation that can lead to abuse

Kids are the flag bearers of pure love- they give unconditional love, they seek pure love and this reflects in their patriotism too. . CAA or no CAA, teach your kids compassion so they can embrace diversity with empathy. Help them extract a zillion reasons from the daily routine which can make them dance and jump with joy.

parkshala workshop

O nce academics were stabilized, we started exploring options for all-round, holistic development . We have collaborated with different individuals and organizations across various fields to conduct workshops for the children. In 2018, we conducted a workshop almost every month.

T hey may not be as privileged as you and me but they are for sure more excited for the festivities. The kids at @parkshala are prepping up once again to brighten up homes this Diwali. We have an earnest request for you all. This time around, please don’t negotiate on the prices of the diyas with the street vendors. How about we light up their homes this Diwali by paying a penny more. It’s the least we could do.

We celebrated our 73rd   # IndependenceDay   on 15th August. We might have gained freedom but are we truly free? . We asked our kids and staff to share their views and interestingly, no one said that they're truly free! It's not just the girls, boys too! . Some aren't free to study as much as they want because they have the sword of   # marriage   hanging over their heads. Some aren't free to be their   # authentic   selves because they fear   # judgment . Many girls aren't free to learn a   # sport   they want because "Have you seen a girl running around like that in our samaaj?" . At Parkshala, we are trying to break all these societal shackles that have created mental blocks. We are trying to counsel the parents into giving their children a chance. "I was in 7th when I got hit on the left #eye while playing. I was young and I knew I'd be scolded. So, out of fear, I didn't tell my parents. I patched it up with the help of a few friends. .
